Acupuncture

For more than 3,000 years many cultures have benefited from acupuncture or Oriental Medicine, now recognized worldwide. Acupuncture restores the balance to the flow of energy throughout the body, thus restoring it to health. In acupuncture treatment, thin sterile needles are inserted at specific points on the body. These points are carefully selected according to the patient’s signs, symptoms, pulse and tongue diagnosis.  As such, each treatment is tailored to the individual’s needs and focuses on ways to bring about balance to the whole system.

Acupuncture can be used to treat many different kinds of conditions.  It is most commonly known for its beneficial effects for the alleviation of pain.  Acupuncture can also be used to treat many other whole body conditions such as gastrointestinal imbalances (IBS, Constipation, diarrhea, acid reflux, etc), urogenital imbalances (UTIs, Kidney stones, Kidney insufficiency, BPH, etc), respiratory imbalances (cough, asthma, allergies, etc), gynecological imbalances (PMS, Menopause, Irregular Menstruation, Painful Menstruation, Infertility, etc), circulatory imbalances (heart disease, palpitations, edema, etc), and nervous system imbalances (anxiety, stress, insomnia, PTSD, depression, etc), just to name a few.

In addition, Dr. Rudd is currently pursuing additional training in Dr. Richard Tan’s Balancing Method.  This method utilizes a 3-step strategy toward a minimal number of distal points to avoid aggravation of local areas of pain. This remarkably effective and amazingly simple style of acupuncture incorporates Classical Chinese concepts into a logical and precise method of diagnosis and treatment for a myriad of health conditions.
